VQI Annual Meeting – UPDATE


SVS PSO is receiving many inquiries regarding VQI Annual Meeting in Toronto and appreciates all the communications from members and update notices regarding institutional and workplace travel bans.

Based on information known today, the VQI Annual Meeting will take place as planned June 16-17, 2020, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Registration continues to be open at the link below and here.

Our policy has always been that attendees are entitled to a full registration refund in the event of an emergency. In the event the VQI Annual Meeting is canceled due to the global pandemic, attendees will be refunded in full for registration fee only.

Our first concern, of course, is the health, safety, and security of VQI members, their patients and all stakeholders planning to attend. SVS PSO leadership is actively and closely monitoring this evolving situation and meeting regularly and will continue regular communications with members, VAM attendees, partners and stakeholders as the situation develops.

SVS PSO continues to follow published guidance of national and local health authorities, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) and encourage attendees to take common-sense precautions and follow CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of illness. Local authorities in Toronto have put some procedures in place to scree international passengers arriving at Toronto Pearson Airport to help prevent the introduction of further cases and to ensure Toronto remains a safe environment. Further details may be found here. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control has not identified any elevated risk in Canada and is not advising American travelers to alter their travel plans to Canada.

The Metro Toronto Convention Centre is working closely with industry partners to monitor developments relating to COVID-19 and taking direction from provincial, Canadian and global health authorities. Ontario officials are actively working with partners in the health care system at the municipal, provincial and federal levels to identify, prevent and control this emerging global health issue.

VQI@VAM 2020 – Registration is now OPEN!

The registration fee for VQI@VAM will be $295. Registrants will have two options: 1- Start a New SVS Registration or 2- Start a Ticket ONLY Registration. Full conference registration allows you to choose sessions to attend during VQI@VAM, in addition to choosing sessions held during VAM. Use the TICKET ONLY option (3rd down) if you plan to attend VQI@VAM, Postgraduate Courses and/or RPVI Exam Review course.  You will be required to make your breakout session selections at the time of registration!

If you are planning on attending, please be aware that all U.S. residents entering Canada will be required to travel with a valid passport. Your passport expiration date may not be within six months of your travel dates.
